What is the 21st Century Program? What's happening this month?

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program supports children by providing academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.

The program runs Tuesdays-Fridays 3:25-6:25 PM. Transportation to Millmont and Oakbrook is provided. For info call 484-857-7292 or the office at 610-371-5935.

Welcome to the Summer Edition of the 21st Century Program

If you are interested in applying you can click here and download the registration packet.

My name is Mr. Pedraza, and I am the coordinator of the program here at Southwest Middle.  I want to take this moment to encourage you to register and attend the summer program this year.  We plan on having lots of fun and lots of learning.  I will later tell you about the trips we will take this year, but I need to express that only deserving students will truly benefit from the program and all it has to offer.  As simply as I can put it, you will need to give respect, act responsible, and be cooperative in the classroom and during the recreational activities.  The contract we are making is that when you do what's expected of you then you can assume that you will enjoy the full benefits of the program.  If there is any doubt of what we want from you, it's pretty much what we expect during the school year.

I have to go now, but I'll be back to post more info.  Good luck and enjoy your stay!
